Individual Therapy - $110 / 55-minute session

For clients who find these fees inaccessible, I hold 25% of my self-pay clients at sliding scale fees. Currently, these spots are full, but I am happy to add you to my wait list if this is an option you need.

When you pay the full price, you help make my offering of sliding scale fees sustainable and allows me to continue in this work. By paying the full self-pay price you are helping support me in my work while also increasing accessibility for other clients.

“Why should I self-pay for therapy?”

With self-pay, you do not have an outside source limiting or controlling your therapy services. Some insurance companies limit how many mental health therapy appointments you can have in a year. With self-pay, you can have as many appointments as is necessary for your growth and healing, going at the pace that feels right to you. Insurance also requires you to receive a diagnosis. When using self-pay you are not required to receive a diagnosis. A diagnosis with insurance may go on your medical record. Using self-pay allows for a diagnosis to be kept as confidential as possible.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. Don’t see your insurance listed? I am happy to provide you with a “Statement of Services” so that you can seek reimbursement for other out of network insurances or for use of HSA/ FSA payment methods. Many clients have out of network benefits and will receive a portion of counseling fees reimbursed to them from their insurance companies. If this is the case, clients pay my full rate and then submit the “Statement of Services” to their insurance company to receive reimbursement directly from them.

I provide a free 15-minute consultation, so we can explore if we are a good fit to work together. During this consultation, you can share a bit about what you are wanting from therapy and ask any questions you have about the therapeutic process before deciding to schedule an initial session.
